Jerrods Philosophy

Shoot Lower Scores Today

The hard part of golf is not swinging the club. The game of golf is more of an art of shooting low scores, not perfect swings. With my training program students are doing things they once thought were impossible. This allows them to play the course the way it was designed and to focus more on the mental game of building confidence in themselves.

Swing Philosophy

Jerrod loves building golf swings that generate power from the ground up. He starts by ensuring the player has the proper grip, setup, and a properly fitted golf club, then tailors the swing to match the individual’s unique body—considering their shape, strength, and flexibility. This personalized, foundational approach promotes a swing that is both consistent and repeatable.

1997-1999

1999-2001

Bob Freer, the Director of Golf, who was also mastermind/instructor/engineer taught me more about the physics of the golf swing and how it effects the ball flight.

Golf Coach IMG Academies David Leadbetter Golf Bradenton, Fl.

2001-2004

My tenure at the David Leadbetter Junior Golf Academy was without a doubt the most pivotal time in my career. I like to say this is where I obtained my master’s degree in the golf swing.  I had so many great mentors there helping me understand all facets of how to take a beginner to winner. I was able to meet so many tour players and got my first taste of caddying for a young female U.S. Junior Champion named Nicole Perrot at LPGA Q-School.  It was an amazing experience working for this company.

2004-Present

In 2004, I returned to my roots in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. Even now, I’d say I’m just a country boy who had the incredible opportunity to work at one of the best golf training facilities in the world. For me, it’s so much more than a job; it’s a blessing to be in an industry I love, and even more rewarding to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people through the game of golf. Now, with our new facility in Abingdon, anything is possible for a kid who has a dream.
